Car Insurance Geo (Car Insurance). Question about gun safety?Question about gun safety? Every time I take my gun somewhere ( when I'm not shooting) wether it's walking to the gun range, or putting the gun in the backseat of my car, people always freak out at me when I point my gun at them. Why does it matter? I always clean my gun, make sure it has no bullets in it, and put it on safe whenever I'm not shooting, so why does it matter if I accidentally point my gun at someone. I know that not everybody knows my gun isn't loaded, but even the people that I've explained to the percautions i've taken still freak out, and tell me that they will hit me if I point my gun at them again (it was on accident) why do they do this? It's like pointing your middle finger at them. Nobody likes to look down the barrel of a gun. I think you're joking. A lot of people have been killed with unloaded weapons. Huh? In today's day an age just makes perfect sense not to point a gun at anybody! People make mistakes, plus people don't come with warning signs of crazy written on their foreheads! Are you a human being? You are not perfect. With gun safety all guns are considered armed until you check it yourself. Auto parts : Distributor Cap Adapter Retainer Acura 1995 . Geo . How to Fit a Shock Absorber to a CarShock absorbers dampen the suspension of most automobiles, and when they wear out they require replacement. Fitting a shock to a car is a simple process once you have removed the old shock. Just be sure to replace the shock with the exact size as the old model. The average backyard mechanic can replace a shock absorber in about 30 minutes, with only a few basic tools required. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Floor jack Jack stand Lug wrench Socket set SnipsRemoval Step by Step : 1 Determine whether the vehicle must be lifted to access the shock absorber. You can remove some shocks without removing the wheel; other models have mounts that you cannot easily reach with the wheel in place. If you can take the shock out without removing the wheel, proceed to Step 3. 2 Lift the car with the floor jack, and remove the wheel by turning the lug nuts counterclockwise. Place a jack stand on the frame rail for support. 3 Remove the lower shock mount nut by turning it counterclockwise. Do not slide the shock from the bolt; it should remain in place at this time to prevent decompression. 4 Remove the upper mount bolt or screws by turning them counterclockwise. Some models have a mount plate with vertical screws; other models have simple bolts running through the shock's eyelet mount. Hold the bolt head while turning the nut counterclockwise, then slide the bolt out of the eyelet. 5 Slide the bottom of the shock off the mount bolt, and the shock will drop out. Installation Step by Step : 1 Position the new shock onto the top mount first, securing the bolt or screws by turning them clockwise until they are tight. Slide the bolt into the eyelet mount, then hold it with a socket wrench while turning the nut. 2 Cut the keeper strap on shock body with the snips. The shock will begin to slowly decompress; as it does, quickly slide the bottom eyelet over the mount bolt. If the shock decompresses too far, you may find it difficult to push it into place. Secure the mount nut by turning it clockwise. Remove the remaining keeper strap debris. 3 Replace the wheel, if applicable, by turning the lug nuts clockwise in an alternating pattern. Remove the jack stand, then lower the car with the floor jack by slowly turning the jack's pressure screw counterclockwise. Tips & Warnings Use extreme caution when working underneath a vehicle. ResourcesWhat Shocks and Struts Do
Geo . Car Shock Absorber RepairAutomobiles are manufactured with shock absorbers at each wheel, to dampen bumps and rough terrain. The function of a shock is to resist the upward motion of the spring, which has the tendency to bounce. The average backyard mechanic can replace a set of shocks in about two hours. Access Some vehicles require removal of the wheel closest to the shock absorber to access the bolts easily. Sometimes, lifting the vehicle and placing it on jack stands makes it easier to crawl up underneath to work on the shocks. In most cases, the shocks can be replaced entirely without lifting it or taking off a wheel. Removal Turn the lower mount bolt counterclockwise, but do not remove it completely, simply loosen it. Turn the top shock mount bolt counterclockwise while holding the mount nut with a socket wrench. Slide the bolt out of the top shock eyelet. On some models, the top mount bolt is held to the body of the car with a flat mount plate. Turn the two vertical screws counterclockwise to remove it. Once the top mount is free, totally remove the bottom mount nut and slide the bottom shock eyelet from the bolt. The shock will drop down and can be removed. Replacement Position the new shock eyelet into the top mounts, or place the mount plate against the body. Turn the mount plate screws clockwise, or slide the mount bolt into the eyelet and fasten the mount nut onto it clockwise. Tighten these fasteners completely. Cut the keeper strap on the new shock, which will allow it to decompress slowly. As it passes the bottom shock mount bolt, slide the eyelet onto the bolt. Turn the mount nut onto the bolt clockwise until snug. These days, most batteries are sealed. Never open a battery with a lit cigarette in your mouth. (For that matter, never smoke while working around your car!) Batteries are filled with an acid that generates hydrogen gas, so you want to be careful when working around them. If you get the liquid on your skin or clothes, wash it off with water immediately. 2. If your battery is not sealed, look inside the battery. Geo . What is the idle valve?
